Lunchmeat - Audiovisual sessions, alternative culture, streetart, design, music and a lot more
Enjoy Blip from afar
When Venetian Snares made the album called Winnipeg Is a Frozen Shithole he probably didn't know that the other part of the title would perfectly fit for Prague these days. Yeah, Jack Frost came to the Czech Republic, but what about New York? People are sweating there. Well, at least those who have decided to visit the Blip Festival, a kingdom of fleeting euphory, as far as we know.
The Blip was the first incarnation of an audiovisual celebration of one generation's phenomenon – chiptune. Those who visited our 8-bit Session in September, probably know what the term means. Others can watch videos (see below) from the fourth edition of the festival, which takes place in NYC these days. Superstars (Nullsleep, Bubblyfish, Bit Shifter or David Sugar, to name a few)? That's a routine at Blip, but organizers also explore the unexplored (crazy Rich Greco whom video – where he suggests how to make the Blip at home – you can watch under these lines), make workshops or screen the movie Reformat the Planet, which we also screened, by the way.
And that's not the end. You can also hear it. Live Audio Stream on WFMU.
