Zomby, the master of wonky didn't come to Prague in October, but Ikonika, the first lady of the genre, which is somewhere among garage, dubstep and chiptune, should delight those who cried their hearts out of his absence.

She started as a drummer in post-hardcore and metalcore bands, five years ago she began to compose in Fruity Loops by herself. And the first one who mentioned her was Kode9, the owner of one of the best electronic labels these days, Hyperdub. Ikonika have released several 12" there so far and her debut album Contact, Love, Want, Have will be released on 6th April there.

Her LPs are about bulky bass lines sharpen by bleeps from video games and lambent hi-hats, but at the same time you can hear huge waves of emotions under melodies. „I want my music to be heartfelt but at the same time it needs to work on the dancefloor,“ says British producent. And that harmony works perfectly.
