Lunchmeat Pure Audiovisual Extravaganza - International festival of the independent electronic music and visual art
Ilan Katin with politics and Yes, Robot with toys. Here are lectures!
Ilan Katin has already had an five-hour-long workshop and his lecture will be also extensive. Therefore it will be divided to several parts. The first one is a survey of audiovisual collaborations, in which Ilan participated. Then he will go on to talk about the case study of the project "Lance Blisters" which refers to political and establishment anthems and religion manipulation. The other one case study is "Unity" which is much about the same but it flatly admonishes to unite against politicians and their manipulation. "Five Thousand Years" answers the question "How long does it take to be involved by violence?" Politically tactful people should stay ante portas, Ilan gives to know that he is a straightforward guy, perhaps too much.
Yes, Robot are going to show an introduction to the Circuit bending – a simple technique consisting of creative modifying of toys and other cheap electronic devices to make them make music – in an interactive way. They are going to show the basics of the bending process so, after the lecture, you will be able to try it by yourselves.
Pintaycolorea is going to talk about her work and the software she uses for the live performances and Video Jack is just the same case, but they are also going to show self-made programmes. VJ Entter's approach is suchlike, but he is going to talk more about inspiration and references to other artists. Aalto's and Junior's lectures will be similar.
If you associate the word "lecture" with a feeling of weariness, perhaps you will change your mind. Performes will show you that time spent on lectures do not have to be misspent.
